Ngorongoro Lions
Stripes Yellow

Breathe Nature Stories became the bridge between the BBC Natural History Unit and KopeLion - a local project working to foster human-lion coexistence in Ngorongoro Conservation Area where intensifying human-lion conflicts due to diminishing space, degraded landscapes and increasing poverty have impacted lion populations and separated the Crater lions from the Serengeti.

Our work was to provide insightful scientific research on lion behaviour and monitoring updates from the collared lions and provide narratives and entry points to amplify the voices of the lion guardians, called Ilchokuti, working to prevent and mitigate human-lion conflicts to help guide the production and build the behind-the-scenes episode that had impact at its core.
